EXPLORE

Kenneth Deffeyes’ insight comes from his vast experience in the oil field since the 1960s. As a graduate of a high school in Casper, Wyoming, Deffeyes was surrounded by the booming oil industry. He pursued petroleum engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, where he finished his undergraduate degree with accredited work in Chemistry. Shell Oil offered him a job just after he finished his studies, where he continued in the oil business years after. During this time, Deffeyes finished graduate work leading to a doctorate at Princeton.

Deffeyes’ career in Oil led him to teach at Princeton in 1967, and has since retired. Throughout the years insight in Deffeyes’ work also came from his friend and colleague Dr. King Hubbert himself.
